At this time it is unlikely there will be ice hockey this winter at the Asheville Civic Center.
The AHL is always investigating avenues of interest for ice hockey in the community and will certainly keep all AHL members up to date on any opportunities for the sport that may become available within the local area. Until such time, the closest youth and adult ice programs available to this area are located at the Pavilion Recreation Complex in Greenville, SC.
The AHL will also look at putting together a High School Hockey Team for the winter season, with possible practices in Greenville SC. Youth players of High School age who are interested should email Jim Gelleny at gathinc@msn.com

Is there any Pick-Up hockey going on or no hockey at all? Seems to me it would be pretty easy to get enough guys for pick-up hockey that would cover the ice. Sorry, new here and itching to start playing again.

There is NO ice in Asheville to play.

Yeah it would be nice, but there is nowhere to play.
